There have been several changes and improvements to JAVDatabase.com over the last couple of months and this post will summarize some of them.
Data improvements
The site now sources its movie data directly from Japanese sites which should provide faster and more accurate data. All data is still edited manually to ensure the best possible accuracy for names and cast lists. All idol pages are still created manually to ensure high quality data and images. In addition, data is slowly being updated for older movies through both user submissions and updating through our new data sources. This process will be ongoing to continue to improve the accuracy of the database. Thanks to everybody who continues to submit corrections!
Improved homepage
There is a new featured slider on the homepage which will be used to highlight blog posts, site updates and featured movies and idols.
Better image galleries
Image galleries for both idols and movies have been improved to include mobile swipe and keyboard arrow navigation. In addition, there should be far less empty pages on galleries as the code has been improved.
International blocking
Unfortunately traffic from the UK, Australia and France has been blocked due to their aggressive and unsustainable age verification requirements. As it would cost over 100x the average advertising revenue the site makes per user to implement age verification, there was no option other than to block this traffic. If a free age verification solution appears, it will be implemented and those countries will be unblocked.

Great to see the site keeps improving! The data accuracy and gallery updates are a noticeable upgrade. Thanks for being transparent about the changes and for all the hard work behind the scenes β keep it up! π

If the site contains actual product description (as well as means to search keywords within it), JAVdatabase would be an ideal go-to AV encyclopedia. r18.com (defunct streaming website) used to include this functionality since only product title could leave out some indispensable info. Suppose you enter “xxxxxxx yyyyyyy”, by encompassing description database, result entries could be more tailored and multiple times of those based on product title alone (win-win for website visitors — prospective customers — and AV publishers). I am not quite assured whether it is possible to scrape data from official websites, such as DMM.com, or utilize computer imaging to mine product description from AV cover.

A small suggestion: could you add a category or filter in the idol section, so that idols who have uncensored videos are separated? Sometimes, when looking for uncensored idols, we have to search one by one, and they are mixed with idols who donβt have any uncensored videos at all.

I wish! Unfortunately it’s illegal (in the UK at least) to promote VPN products to get around age verification.
